About Investigation Bureau

Investigation Bureau is a UK firm of private investigators. The name is new. It is built on years of casework for private clients, solicitors and businesses, and set up to do that work to a standard of its own.

Our clients are private individuals facing a personal question they cannot answer alone, solicitors who need evidence that will survive scrutiny, and businesses making decisions where being wrong is expensive. The work spans covert surveillance, people tracing, matrimonial matters, fraud, corporate due diligence, workplace investigations, cyber and open-source investigations, lawful vehicle tracking and technical surveillance countermeasures.

How we operate

Lawfully, and demonstrably so. Every instruction is processed on a documented lawful basis under UK GDPR. Investigation Bureau is a trading name of Bureau Nine Ltd, which is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller (ZC259849) and at Companies House under company number 17484009. We tell clients what is achievable before they commit, quote a fixed price in writing, and decline work we cannot do properly or lawfully.

One investigator is accountable for each case from the first conversation to the report. Confidentiality is built into how we work: instructions are handled need-to-know, and any field investigator or specialist we bring in is vetted and works under written confidentiality terms.
